Laie Palms Cinemas is a newly renovated 2 screen theater located in the Laie Shopping Center in Laie Hawaii. The theater was previously operated by Wallace Theaters, before it was shut down in April of 2008. Don and Alicen Nielsen, new residents of Laie and serious movie lovers, took on the project of reopening the theater. Working in concert with the owner of the shopping center, renovations began in March 2009.

A new roof, new air conditioning system, and much more have been renovated with new wall and ceiling coverings, new acoustic soundproofing, upgraded sound and projection equipment, upgraded seating and a new concession stand and lobby.

The theater officially reopened on July 17, 2009 showing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Ice Age II. The community came out in full force selling out most of the weekend shows. Laie Palms Cinemas offers first run and second run movies, focusing on G-rated, PG-rated, and select PG-13 films. The concession stand offers a variety of reasonably priced snacks, including real butter on the popcorn.
